Installation
Install TagPivot from the Chrome Web Store on desktop Chrome or a compatible Chromium browser.
Install the published extension and open it from the Chrome toolbar while reading.
Open or close TagPivot with Ctrl + Shift + F. On macOS, use Command + Shift + F.
Compatibility
TagPivot is a desktop Chrome extension. Chrome on iPhone and iPad does not install Chrome Web Store extensions.

Local processing
When you open TagPivot on an eligible web page, the extension analyzes page content locally to derive topic tags and relationships. Raw page text is not stored.
A content script also maintains aggregate click and scroll counts for the current page session. It does not record what you click, what you type, form contents, cookies, or account credentials.
Local storage
TagPivot uses Chrome extension storage (chrome.storage.local) to preserve the topic history required to compare analyzed pages across browsing sessions.
Stored records can include dates and timestamps, website hostnames, hashed page identifiers, derived tags and tag tuples, aggregate click and scroll counts, a bounded interaction signal, daily tag totals, and rolling Field or polarization samples.
Page-event history is retained for up to 60 days and capped at 20,000 events. Rolling daily series keep up to 60 samples. All stored data remains on your device.
Sensitive and noisy pages
TagPivot uses local checks to avoid retaining pages identified as sensitive or low-value, including adult, gambling, login, banking, mail, challenge, and low-signal generated domains. These checks do not block websites or restrict browsing.
Permissions
The storage permission is used only for the local topic history and analysis described above.
Access to HTTP and HTTPS pages lets TagPivot operate across the websites you visit. Page analysis and persistent storage occur when you open TagPivot. This access is used only for its user-facing topic map.
No transmission or third-party use
TagPivot does not transmit, sell, or share page content, browsing activity, derived tags, local analysis, or user identity. It does not use analytics services, advertising services, tracking scripts, remote code, external APIs, or cloud synchronization.
Data handled by the extension is used only to provide and improve TagPivot’s user-facing topic map and is not used for advertising, credit, lending, or unrelated purposes.
Deletion
You can remove TagPivot’s stored data from the extension interface or by uninstalling the extension.
Changes
If permissions or storage behavior change, the release notes will describe what changed and why.
